I still have one more post about Phoenix, but I didn't get home until 9 tonight. I'm tired.
But I told you that I'm going to post more regularly, so here I am.
In the past, I've invited you to ask me questions about anything you've ever wondered about me. For example, you've asked me how I ended up being a lawyer and how I met Mr. Monkey. I've answered food- and blog-related questions in my FAQ.
I won't tell you where I work or my mother's maiden name, but I'm pretty open about everything else.
Any burning questions? To the extent the answer is short, I can answer right in the comments below. Any longer explanations may be featured in future posts.
You're famous for being sort of anti-child. What made you decide (so far) that you don't want kids? Have you changed your mind at all?
ReplyDeleteI'm not fond of mushrooms, camping, or country music, so I don't incorporate those things into my life. The same reasoning applies to children, but somehow this is never reason enough for people who ask.
DeleteI am trying so hard to butt out, but the anti-child myth surrounding your online persona is a topic I cannot resist weighing in on. My little ones absolutely adore you, and I am pretty sure your little monkey niece and nephews do too. I love and appreciate your honesty and humor with respect to childbearing issues. I also appreciate you thinking long and hard about whether motherhood is for you. But your legendary anti-child label is not deserved, in my opinion. Kids don't love and adore anti-child grownups, and they love, love, love WeMo!
DeleteSince I'm familiar with her in person, I know that kids love her. And that she's really good with kids. I was more getting at her talking about how kids are not for her.
DeleteAlso, WeeMo, you know that I'm not trying to tell you that you should have kids (or not, because that's obviously your choice). But I am curious to know if you have changed perspectives since you've accomplished some of the goals on your list.
Where is your go to food destination? What is your most memorable travel experience?
ReplyDeleteIn the United States, my favorite eating cities are Los Angeles (lucky me), San Francisco, New York, New Orleans, and Chicago.
DeleteMy most memorable trip was to the Galapagos Islands in 2004. It was the best vacation of my life.
Not really a question, but just curious. I'd love to see more of your home. Maybe some before and after pics?
ReplyDeleteHmm. No promises on this one. Maybe I can show you another bathroom? Our home is not really that exciting. It is empty. LOL.
DeleteI love bathrooms and kitchens! Sorry, didn't mean to sound like a weirdo! I appreciate your modern design aesthetic. :)
DeleteAre you going to get a dog? I think you've mentioned it before. I think you should.
ReplyDeleteThat's not really a burning question. Just a question. =D
A dog is a possibility. We have a large backyard where he/she could run around happily!
DeleteDoggies in your yard yes!
DeleteNow that you have a kickass kitchen, have you learned to cook? If so, what have you made so far and when should I come over?
ReplyDeleteHahahaha. I still don't cook.
DeleteI made cioppino once, but it was mostly with frozen ingredients.
And somebody else made a multi-course meal for us in the kitchen.
You can come over any time if somebody else cooks. :)
The Galapagos Islands sound (sounds?) like a really hard place to top, but where is the next mega awesome vacation spot you'd like to go?
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you like to read? Is it because you have to do it a lot for work and stuff that you'd rather not do it for pleasure? I just can't imagine never wanting to read Harry Potter. That shit is the bomb.
Funny you should ask! We are going back to the Galapagos next year! Headed to islands that we didn't visit last time.
DeleteI used to read. In fact, I used to read a lot. For some reason, around 2001, I stopped enjoying it. If I wasn't working, I didn't want to read.
And, ever since I stopped reading, my eyesight stopped deteriorating.
So that was one benefit that came out of this seeming tragedy.
What is your earliest food memory?
ReplyDeleteI was three and still living in NYC. Our building's security guard, Clyde, gave me a balloon and hard candy, and I was SO HAPPY!
DeleteI guess that's not *really* food, but that's the earliest food-related memory.
two more:
ReplyDeletewhere did you go to law school?
what kind of law do you practice?
if either of these is too intrusive, feel free not to answer.
I will e-mail you. :)
DeleteWhat brand are the jeans that we, the Sisterhood pass around? And what makes them magical?
ReplyDelete-LD
Our jeans are brandless and made from the mane of a unicorn.
DeleteHow are brother monkey and his girlfriend doing? Has your grandma taken you on anymore shopping trips? How do you and mr. Monkey score all these great travel deals. I have tried to do Priceline and the many sites out there, but never score anything close to your awesome deals. Do tell. I'm so glad you are writing again.
ReplyDeleteOh, boy. I really haven't talked about personal stuff for a long time. BroMo and Torry split up nearly four years ago. He has been single ever since.
DeleteGrandma visits only every two years or so. I do have one trip that I did not document yet. I think I'll blog that, as you are the second reader who has expressed interest in the past few weeks.
Mr. Monkey is a travel ninja. He is constantly looking for deals. I can't say that I know all of his ways. I just pack my bag!
Any good concerts lined up? How did you like Barbados?
ReplyDeleteWe are going to see Joy Formidable, Lumineers, Imagine Dragons, and Walk the Moon next week. We are also traveling to NYC to see Metric in September. And then there's Garbage at The Wiltern in October.
DeleteBarbados was wonderful! Our main activity was the Food & Wine and Rum festival, but we had a great time seeing green monkeys, too!
What camera and lens do you carry around nowadays?
ReplyDeleteNikon D7000
DeleteNikon 35mm f/1.8
Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6
Still no new lenses!
