Parkway Bakery and Tavern served us the best po' boys we've ever had. Good enough for President Obama! Good enough for us!
I saw this boat of chili fries in the pass, and I knew we were in for a great meal.
Root beer.
The label is right.
Homemade alligator sausage and roasted turkey gumbo ($5.05).
Rich and spicy. Mmm mmm good.
Regular-sized golden fried catfish po' boy ($7.55).
The bread! The fish! The yum!
Regular-sized Parkway Surf and Turf po' boy -- slow-cooked roast beef with golden shrimp covered in gravy ($8.00).
Showstopper! Wow! Wow! Wow! How can a sandwich be so good?! Seriously, people. We stood in line for a half hour, and we were all smiles after just one bite.
You will wait when you go to Parkway Bakery and Tavern, but you will be thrilled you did.
i really love OG places like this with all the vintage signage/decor/knickknacky stuff.
