"Real food done real good" is the motto of Elizabeth's Restaurant, and our brunch certainly lived up to this motto.
Look at that li'l pig on the bottle! Oink oink!
Praline bacon ($6.00).
This is the number one reason for you to come to Elizabeth's! Praline bacon! PRALINE BACON!!! Sweet, salty, crunchy, fatty, candied heaven!
Fried boudin balls with Creole mustard sauce ($6.00).
Beautiful golden blood sausage spheres dressed in creamy spiciness. Just lovely.
The Hangover Helper -- shrimp with leeks and tasso ham in beef broth over grits ($14.50).
Incredibly flavorful and delicious.
Duck waffle -- sweet potato and duck hash on top of a cornbread waffle with pepper jelly ($14.50).
Too heavy on the sweet potatoes and too light on the duck. More duck please! That would've made it better!
The specials on the chalkboard looked fantastic, but they had sold out. I highly recommend you go to Elizabeth's Restaurant early for brunch, so you can catch those specials in addition to gorging on the praline bacon!
