We had originally planned to meet mfluder again for brunch at Stanley, but the wait was just too ridiculously long, so we headed to The Ruby Slipper Cafe instead.
What a great back-up plan! Good enough to be an original plan!
BBQ shrimp and grits -- sauteed Gulf shrimp over Falls Mill creamy stone-ground grits with an Abita Amber rosemary reduction and buttermilk biscuit ($12).
See those beautiful fried discs? Those were fried green tomatoes!
Grits and grillades special.
So New Orleans! The pork loin was so tender!
Eggs cochon -- a pair of poached eggs over apple-braised pork debris and an open-faced buttermilk biscuit finished with Hollandaise ($13).
With these ingredients, how could it not be a breakfast dream?
Ginger peach pancakes special.
We all shared this for dessert. Really interesting and delightful flavors!
The Ruby Slipper Cafe was an adorable spot for brunch. It did not disappoint.
I love "Pork Debris" I probably should make me laugh, but it sort of does. Looks delicious!
