We loved every single thing we ate at Fatty Crab.
We visited the West Village location. There is a Fatty Crab on the Upper West Side, too. Lucky New Yorkers! Fatty Crab serves some ridiculously tasty Malaysian-inspired eats!
Fresh watermelon juice with kaffir lime ($7). Thai iced coffee ($6).
We came on a warm day, so these really hit the spot.
Fazio Farms Fatty Duck, pickled mustard greens, Thai chili, gula jawa ($25).
Oh mah gah. Crispy. Juicy. Spicy. Pickly. A bit sweet. A lot awesome.
Fatty Sliders -- Meyer's beef, spiced pork ($12).
Totally simple but crazy good.
Nasi lemak -- chicken curry, coconut rice, poached egg, otak ($21).
Very homey Asian comfort food. Mmm. Happy.
Chili crab, chili sauce, white toast (market price -- we paid $49).
Yes, it's expensive. Yes, it's messy. But this is the reason to come to Fatty Crab. Before you dig in, you will wonder why you have giant pieces of bread.
Then you will take one glorious orange bite.
And you will know.
The sauce. The bomb. The end.
Hmmm I don't think I've ever had Malaysian food, but given the surrounding countries I think I would probably really enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI love this kind of food and I love pickled mustard greens.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried Khao Soi, a northern Thai noodle dish topped with pickled greens? So good.
Please stop posting pictures that make me drool for food I cannot get to.
