Mendocino Farms is a small local chain with two locations in Downtown L.A. and one location in Marina del Rey. It serves excellent, fresh, made-to-order sandwiches. We love getting our sandwiches to go.
During this visit, we were the last customers of the day, so the manager gave us some free drinks. Gotta love free Boylan fountain sodas! What a friendly place!
Wine Country Steak & Brie -- carved steak, Point Reyes Farmstead bleu cheese spread, horseradish crema, French brie, caramelized onions, sauteed mushrooms, and tomato on panini-grilled Ciabatta ($9.25).
Did you read those ingredients? That pretty much says it all. A hand-held package of yum.
The Pork Loin Sandwich -- slow-roasted natural pork loin with housemade apple chutney, spicy brown mustard, roasted potatoes, and baby spinach on a Dolce Forno pretzel roll ($8.25).
Just lovely. Surprisingly light with a hint of spice and a touch of sweetness.
I have yet to eat a bad sandwich from Mendocino Farms. Other sandwiches I've enjoyed include the Country Style BBQ Pulled Pork, Cuban Style Grilled Cheese, Kurobuta Pork Belly Banh Mi, and seasonal specials like the Slow Braised Lamb Sandwich.
You just can't go wrong here.
Ha! I was just telling my bff at work that we must go someday for lunch. So glad that this place has your stamp of approval!

ReplyDeleteThe MDR location is a fav spot of ours! I tried the banh mi sandwich this weekend, and it was great! Brent had the lamb sandwich -- also yummy.
ReplyDeleteIt's been ages since I've had a good sandwich, so I made one for lunch yesterday and it was so good I wanted another for dinner. I wish I had someplace to pick up something like this!
