We took the subway up a bit and had a nice long stroll through several neighborhoods. We ate sparingly at dinner, so we worked up an appetite. It was time for fourthmeal! Shake Shack was perfect for this.
I'd heard so many good things about Shake Shack. My expectations were high.
And my expectations were met. And then some.
Peanut butter frozen custard hand-spun shake ($5.25).
Premium ice cream and rich peanutty goodness in drinkable form. Kinda incredible.
ShackBurger ($4.75).
100% all-natural Black Angus beef, no hormones, no antibiotics, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce. Dare I say it? Yes, I dare. I liked this more than In-N-Out. Mr. Monkey said that I'm a bad Los Angeleno. I reminded him that I was born in the Bronx.
Shack-cago Dog ($4.25).
Vienna all-beef hot dog on a poppy seed bun, mustard, relish, onion, cucumber, pickle, tomato, sport pepper, and celery salt. Split and griddled crisp.
If Shake Shack ever came to the West Coast, I would shed tears of joy.
I have heard of this place before. I don't know why.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think it is very cool that you were born in the Bronx.

ReplyDeleteI've been to NYC so many dang times in the past 2 years, have been past Shake Shack at least once during all those trips and haven't gone. I am now fully regretting it.
ReplyDeleteWhy dont they come west? Have they never heard that tune, go west? It's an eggsellent tune!
ReplyDeleteman, i want to come back to NYC just for this.
ReplyDeleteI like that the Shake Shack commented on your post! You're famous :)
ReplyDeleteWait, what? Better than In-N-Out? They just opened one in DC!! Sweet! I'll have to go this week so I can make a fresh comparison between the In-N-Out I had yesterday and Shake Shack :)
