The sky in New Orleans is incredibly blue -- a brilliant, clear, electric blue.
We saw a lot of New Orleans' beautiful sky as we walked away from the French Quarter and along the water. The clouds were extraordinary.
Seriously, can you believe that LA sky? So much better than our L.A. sky!
I'm lazy, but I'm not this lazy.
This guy even had the nerve to yell at people to get out of the way. Ugh.
In contrast, my guy is a sweetie who poses for me unprompted like this.
Yay for giant crawfish.
I was a sweaty mess, so we sought temporary air-conditioned refuge at the mall, where we got a quick snack. Even food court grub is good in New Orleans.
We didn't actually eat any fudge, but the fudgemakers were so fun!
Then we made our way to the St. Charles streetcar.
The 13-mile St. Charles streetcar route runs through uptown New Orleans and passes Tulane and Loyola Universities, Audubon Park, and many lovely homes.
For just $2.50 ($1.25 each for the trip to the end of the line and the trip back), riding the St. Charles streetcar is an inexpensive, relaxing, and scenic way to spend a New Orleans afternoon.
Next: Frog legs, shrimp and grits, duck and dirty rice, and one of my besties.

ReplyDeleteThe sky really is amazing. I like the bridesmaid shot, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI love those BM dresses. Looks like you had great weather when you were there. I notice an absence of sweaty shots of yourself, much like my own blog. :)
ReplyDeleteYou should have told those bridesmaids that their dresses would have looked _so_ much better if their sashes were bright orange ...
ReplyDeleteyour photos of babies are always gorgeous. ironic ;)
ReplyDeletesuper impressed with all of your photos!
ReplyDeletefor a second i thought your airfare was $2.50 (and i would've believed it with your luck!)

Very impressive photos! Love the houses. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteDid you bring home pounds and pounds of pralines? It's a requirement of our trips to Savannah.
ReplyDeleteI had a pen pal who lived on the St. Charles line and went to school at Tulane. She was an artiste!
this pink lover really digs the bridesmaid shot, too :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful city pics, but the jaded Los Angelina in me did a double take at a $2.99 breakfast :)
ReplyDeleteI want to move into one of those houses.
