With a long day ahead of us at the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day, we took it easy last night and watched the Clippers lose to the 76ers at the Staples Center.
We shared the usual -- Skyscraper Dog, Camacho's Nachos, and a caramel apple.
The best part of the game was sharing the experience with our friends, Neyonce and Master Cheer.
No matter where you are or what you're doing, the presence of this dynamic duo ensures that you have a good time!
Speaking of good times, L.A.'s favorite gaudy Hancock Park display didn't disappoint this year. It never does. I snapped these quickly after we visited Brother Monkey one night.
We love Youngwood Court (a.k.a. the House of Davids), especially during the holidays. If you ever want to have a gander, go to 3rd and Muirfield.
yes!!! thank you so much for documenting the house of davids.
ReplyDeletei've always tried to take photos during the holidays but always drive by too fast/am too lazy to pull over.
I want those nachos!
ReplyDeleteI drive by this house every single day for work. I have always wondered who lived there.
ReplyDeleteI just realized that it has been way too long since I've had a hot dog.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pics and link. I really enjoyed reading about the House of Davids (as well as all the comments). I love it when people do stuff like that. Sandra Cisneros (the writer) lives in San Antonio in a historic home. Against the advising of the Historical Commission, she painted her house some unapproved color - I think it was a really bright purple. Love people who fight the power!
ReplyDeleteLMAO at the Davids in Santa Hats. Passing by that house makes it the most enjoyable ride to the Grove from the 101.
ReplyDeleteGad, I need to get me some of those Nachos.
ditto tater! I also am craving an ICEE right now.
ReplyDeleteI used to drive by that house all the time and had always wondered who lived there :)
ReplyDeletewow. seriously, that's all i can muster up.
ReplyDeleteWow! I've never even heard of the House of Davids! Happy New Year to you Monkey Girl!
ReplyDeleteI love that house.
ReplyDeleteThe real story behind that house is pretty damn close to my imagined one, but I feel somehow sad for knowing now.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I loved learning about the House of Davids. And that hot dog is long-normous!
ReplyDeleteHouse of Davids...love.
ReplyDeleteit's great to see the house of davids still went all out this year ;)
