But there are certainly different levels of good.
Full review to come, but, for now, here's the setlist (which is a primary reason I thought what I thought about this concert):
Life In TechnicolorOn our way home, we briefly hydroplaned no less than seven times, got splashed three times by big rigs barreling through gargantuan puddles, and witnessed an ugly accident that left big and small car parts strewn all over the freeway.
Violet Hill
Clocks
In My Place
Speed of Sound
Cemeteries of London
Yes
42
Fix You
Strawberry Swing
God Put A Smile On Your Face
Talk
The Hardest Part
Viva La Vida
Lost
The Scientist
Death Will Never Conquer

Lovers In Japan
Death And All His Friends
Yellow
I am glad we got home safely.
Be careful out there, dear readers. Drive at a reasonable speed. Try to use the middle lane. Don't brake suddenly. Keep a good distance between you and the car in front of you because chances are that guy -- like most Los Angelenos -- can't drive worth shit in the rain.
eek! glad you got home safely. i LOVE coldplay but the setlist is missing a few of my faves. looking forward to your full review. ;-) wish it was up now so i'd have some reading material for my insomnia.
ReplyDeleteAwwww. So glad you made it home safe. I was listening to the storm from the safety of my bedroom and couldn't imagine trying to drive through it.
ReplyDeletehydroplaning is scary

Weemo- I Loved the show.. I can't wait to see your shots since you had amazing seats.
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it out AND you made it home safely ;)
I don't like the latest Coldplay album.
ReplyDeleteThere, I said it.
However, I still love the oldies like Clocks, Fix You, the Scientist, and Yellow :)
Glad you got home safely too. It's very true about people freaking out in the rain.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like this has not been a great concert year for you. Lots of disappointments!
ReplyDeleteGlad that you made it home safely. The rain last night was pretty crazy; it was pouring! And I was just sitting on my butt at home.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the full review.
ReplyDeletePeople drive like idiots. I'm glad you made it home safely.
LA is no place to be when its raining. Glad you had fun and got home safe!
ReplyDeleteI hydroplaned on the freeway once and the car ended up facing oncoming traffic. *shiver* That shit was scary. And Hubbs makes fun of me for driving carefully in the rain. This is a perfect example of why I should! Glad you got home safely.
ReplyDeletedriving home last night was frightening. glad you made it back alright.
ReplyDeletei puffy heart the new album, so for me, i LOVED the show. especially lovers in japan -- how pretty was all that confetti?! jim was bummed that warning signs was left out, but i think he was happy overall.

StormWatch 2008!
ReplyDeleteyikes! Thank goodness you got home safe and hopefully had a great time.
ReplyDeleteI love you for admonishing your readers to be careful! You used a Sable-Crowism! Addressing your audience in the active, slightly older-sibling voice with your anachronistic "dear readers!"
ReplyDeleteI'm taking credit for that one!
Can't wait to hear about the concert.
Glad you made it home safely. I would have freaked out at hydroplaning once, much less seven times.
ReplyDeletemost los angelenos can't drive for shit, period - rain or not.
