Yesterday, I had a great time with my OC friends and supported a good cause while doing it.
Before the festivities, s and I got our nails done at The Nail Spa (1460 Baker Street, Costa Mesa), which was relaxing and pleasant. It's not a fancy place, and the selection of OPI and Essie is scarce, but I was happy enough with my manicure because it only cost $10!
Afterward, we headed to Paper Source at South Coast Plaza, where s returned a photo album and bought a different album with more pages. I saw some cards that reminded me of my favorite potato.
I bought a few things, too, but I won't reveal them because they will be given to some people who read this blog. Hee hee!
Claire met us shortly after we got to the store, and the three of us walked around the mall a bit. We stopped by here.
Then we headed to Hooters for wings and charity!
Several of my friends are training for the L.A. Marathon through Team in Training, so our donations tonight will benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The girls did a great job of organizing, and the Hooters gig proved a great success!
Wings! Wings! Sliders! Bones! I'm glad laughter burns calories. I burned a lot.
Winning raffles is fun! Jennifer won some awesome hoity-toity Mona-Vie acai berry juice. Liz won a wine gift set. Ness won a cosmo gift set. And I won a Sprinkles gift card! (As much as I rave about Crumbs, Dots, and Leda's, I won't turn away free Sprinkles, even if I'm now averse to standing in line.)
Cheers!
A night at Hooters is not complete without public humiliation...of servers and other patrons. Two morons raced while pushing Hooters servers in tiny dish trays. One server totally ate it. Yes, I had fun taking pictures of her fallen ass. Tragedy is comedy when it happens to other people, especially when those people are wearing shiny spandex.
There was also a race between two idiots who ran while flapping like chickens with styrofoam beaks and wings. I don't even know what the prize was. Whatever it was, it couldn't have been worth this.
We caught Diane and Kim sharing some cozy alone time. Fuck yeah!
And a bunch more pics. (Please note the pics in this post are from my iPhone and my point-and-shoot. Papa Monkey still has custody of the new toy until I pick it up when I visit him this weekend!)
